I'm back! :) Here are some of the outfits I'd worn for casual Fridays. Since I haven't lost the pregnancy fats yet, it's still a bit challenging to come up with outfits from my closet.

During my lunch break, I get to the habit of going to the nearby mall – whether Greenbelt, Landmark or Glorietta. But I don’t always shop (otherwise, I’ll be broke). I browse among the items and mostly just window shop. Landmark Makati though is having its month-long sale this August and the marked down items are really tempting. On one of my lunchtime forays, I happen to chance upon this blouse from Nafnaf. I ♥ the print and the silky-soft material. Can you guess how much was it? It was only Php100! I had to confirm with the sales clerk if it was indeed only a hundred bucks. He he. But it was such a steal so I had to buy it. Don’t you just love going to sales and stumbling into something that you’d think is a good find? :) I ♥ this outfit because it boosted my confidence - the dress still fit me despite my growing baby bump! *wink* I just hope I won't suddenly "expand" so I could still wear by pre-pregnancy clothes :) To quote one of my fave Glee character Kurt, "Fashion has no gender." As my belly grows, my old clothes are now slowly being carted off to temporary storage. I am restraining myself to go on a major shopping binge for maternity clothes. The practical me is always reminding me that I may not be able to wear them after I've given birth and that looser tops and dresses is the better way to go. Having limited time to mix and match outfits before going off to work is sometimes frustrating. So one day I took a risk and it turned out great. Myke has this soft knit shirt that he is still not 'confident' to wear (because his tummy is prominent on the fitted top) that I "borrowed". He he he. It was a perfect fit for me. Worn under leggings, it looked just like an oversized top on me. Add some accessory and voila! People commented that I looked really nice and was surprised when told that I am wearing a man's shirt! :P So it's nice to take risks. It may backfire but I'll just chalk it up to experience *wink* "The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life." ~William Faulkner I am not a connoisseur when it comes to the arts but I know how to appreciate the beauty of one's work. When my BFF and I visited a well-known pottery in Ilocos, I was amazed how adept the potter was and even mesmerizing to see a hunk of clay turn into a beautiful jar. Such feeling of admiration was replicated when I had seen the works of Araceli Dans.
It was a blessing that I had managed to score some coutesy tickets thru H, an office colleague who happens to be a relative of the artist. The exhibits were on the first and third floors of the Ayala Museum. The first floor showcases most of the artist's calado paintings which she is known for. Calado are (almost lace-like) embroidery designs that are similar to those in Barong Tagalogs. Some more outfits I wore to the office. I'm now exempted from wearing the company uniforms given my "condition" *wink* but expect more photos of me mostly in flats. Mahigpit magbantay si hubby :P L: Jacket and skirt from Landmark + pearl necklace + Melissa flats R: Tea for Two button down dress + vintage jacket + Janylin silver studded flats The disadvantage of having the mall near where you go to work is that you are always being tempted to look around and window shop. And then you'd fret when you see something that took your fancy and are wanting to buy it.
The box that holds all my accessory is now overflowing. Literally. Some of the bulkier items are stored separately. Though I don't really splurge on trinkets, I do sometimes buy things on impulse. Especially if it's cute and unique. But I do know how to keep my restraints; I don't buy items that are similar to what I already own. But my accessory box is still ready to burst off its hinges from the things I got in there. Some of which I haven't even worn yet. *sigh* Anyway, I'd like to share with you some items I have that I really love - charm bracelets, earrings and cocktail rings. |
